Happy 20th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Maurice! (and yes, the Educated Rodents as well!)

1st November 2021 is the 20th Anniversary of the publication of Sir Terry Pratchett’s novel ‘The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents’. The novel was the 28th in the Discworld series but the first written for a younger audience and won the prestigious Carnegie Medal in 2001.

Karen Usher, who chaired the panel of Carnegie judges, declared that the selection was unanimous:

"This is an outstanding work of literary excellence – a brilliant twist on the tale of the Pied Piper that is funny and irreverent, but also dark and subversive."

To celebrate this amazing Anniversary we have launched the official film website: – which is the home of all things Maurice related – the latest news about the film, cast, character art, behind the scenes footage and much, much more.

The Amazing Maurice film is the first theatrical animated feature film based on one of Sir Terry’s books and features the voice talents of Hugh Laurie (Avenue 5) as Maurice, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Malicia, David Thewlis (Wonder Woman) as Boss Man, Himesh Patel(Yesterday) as Keith, Gemma Arterton (The King’s Man) as Peaches, Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) as The Mayor, David Tennant (Doctor Who) as Dangerous Beans, Ariyon Bakare (His Dark Materials) as Darktan, Rob Brydon (Roald & Beatrix: The Tale of the Curious Mouse) as The Pied Piper, Julie Atherton (Avenue Q) as Nourishing and YouTuber Joe Sugg as Sardines.
